Virginia Bousquet
Virginia (aka V.A.) is a native Houstonian who has lived in the Nashville area for 30+ years. She was married for three decades before the unexpected death of her husband. They have two adult sons, one who has an intellectual disability. She is a spiritual director and soul care coach while she also plays tennis, volunteers and sometimes binge reads JAFF (Jane Austen Fan Fiction). Her favorite treat is a locally made small batch chocolate bar created with dark chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
She has been involved in spiritually ministering to women her entire adult life as a college chaplain for 17 years, a volunteer women’s ministry leader for 8 years, a prayer movement volunteer and a soul companion.
Virginia has received training through Selah Center for Spiritual Formation and continues her education in a supervision group as well as through workshops and courses. She has experienced the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises as an individual and in a group format. Virginia is also a member of SDI – Spiritual Directors International, an educational non-profit for spiritual companions, as well as TIFI (The International Focusing Institute) where she has earned a proficiency in Focusing Partnership. She is completing the requirements to be a certified focusing-oriented spiritual director.
In addition to providing spiritual direction, Virginia is deeply committed to her own ongoing spiritual and emotional growth, including receiving her own spiritual direction regularly, continued involvement in 12 Step recovery, and personal counseling.
